Capoeira da Mata Hawaii

Welcome!  Capoeira da Mata Hawaii, formerly Capoeira Cordão de Ouro (CDO) Hawaii is a non-profit organization dedicated to increase the cultural awareness and education in Hawaii through Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form which blends martial arts, dance, and music.  Capoeira was created by African slaves in Brazil during the colonial era to develop their fighting skills to survive the slavery.  Long after the slavery era, it has become a national sport of Brazil, and it is being practiced all around the world.

Capoeira is very playful, and people of all ages and physical conditions can train and play together. Not only does it improve your strength, flexibility, reflexes and coordination, but also improves your musicality and overall energy.

Come check out our weekly Capoeira classes and join our growing Capoeira community in Hawaii and let’s play!
